WERNER BURGER

Werner has a passion for real estate with more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of property and resort development and management across Southern Africa, the Middle East and various other markets and regions.

In Dubai, UAE, Werner has held, amongst other executive positions in the industry, that of Vice- President Sales and Marketing for IFA Kuwait and President and Chief Operating officer (COO).

He returned to South Africa with his family in 2011 as CEO of IFA and has played a critical role in the management and future expansion of the businesses, locally and internationally.

He holds a BSc Building Management degree and is also CEO of Emboss Properties and KWEmboss. Werner was successful in securing the rights to bring North America’s largest real estate brokerage – Keller Williams – to the Western Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa and the Middle East.

Jonty is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa having practiced at ENSAfrica (Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc), Africa’s largest law firm, in the field of construction law where he represented some of the world’s largest multinationals in countries such as Angola, Guinea, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia etc.

Jonty is a partner at Jaltech (Pty) Ltd (the holding company of Jaltech) a boutique financial consultancy firm specialising (in amongst others) Section 12J fundraising, formation and administration services. His role within Jaltech is focused on accessing retail and institutional funding within the South African market and to date, he has raised substantial funding within the Section 12J sector.

JONATHAN MAEHLER

Jonathan is a former director/partner of BDO and has served as the chief financial officer for several companies, subsequently to departing from BDO. He possesses an array of specialist financial, technical, analytical and other skills which include: leadership, conflict management, labour management, communication and negotiating skills, quality and Internal control implementation, risk management, project management, mergers & acquisitions, start-up management, deal structuring, incentives implementation and capital raising.

Jonathan is currently a director at Zinisi Advisory (Pty) Ltd where he provides the full CFO function to clients as well as specialising in mergers and acquisitions, turnaround investigations.

Andrew is a result driven dynamic hospitality executive with over 27 years of experience in the hospitality sector, who exhibits business acumen and integrity in all business dealings. Equipped with a broad base of experience, he is someone who is capable of dealing with the numerous challenges that present themselves in the broader hospitality sector. Over the years he has built relationships with various key stakeholders in the hospitality and real estate sectors. With experience at board level and a reputation for strategic leadership, he has been instrumental in many business turnarounds.

Andrew has a wealth of hotel knowledge having both owner and operator experience. In his previous roles, Andrew was exposed to all the international hotel brands and has worked alongside all the regional African hotel management companies. Andrew has more recently been involved in the development of several hotel assets in Africa, ranging from budget to luxury branded establishments on the continent. Andrew also represented owners/investors on various mixed use and different ownership models, in terms of the hotel real estate portfolios, and chaired several hotel body corporates and home owners’ associations.

In recent years, his focus has been on developing relationships and driving profit, multi-property management, asset management, running large and complex hotel operations (in excess of R3 billion), brand development and implementation, revenue management, sales and marketing of upmarket brands/hotels, change management and investment and financing models.

ANDREW ROGERS

DEON VILJOEN
(Non-Executive and independent Director

Deon is a qualified hotelier and businessman with in excess of 40 years’ experience in the hospitality industry in South Africa. After 18 years with Tsogo Sun, he recently retired as Operations Director of Southern Sun Resorts.

His career included successful stints as an entrepreneur, a lecturer, chairman of many associations and organisations, including President of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and more recently Chairman of the Vacation Shared Ownership Association of SA.

Deon was the first employee and CEO of the now well know Sandton Convention Centre and responsible for the building and operational launch of this R 400 million project in 2001.

He serves on various resort management boards representing many individual and company owners as independent non-executive director. Deon is a qualified executive business coach and mentor and the founder of Leadership Unplugged (Pty) Ltd.
